What do you wish other mamas knew about your experience as a black mama in America?
I wish they knew that it’s never easy. Often times we’re judged by the color of our skin. It can be hard and people can be very rude. I just ignore the bad and focus on the good.
What do you wish every mama would teach their children about black history?
I wish every mama would teach their littles about the amazing historical figures we have. From Martin Luther King Jr to Rosa Parks, Malcolm X & more. There are so many great leaders that made us who we are today that deserve recognition. That starts in the home not just at school.
What is your favorite goumi products & why?
Oh that’s a no brainer definitely the sleeping gowns. It makes changing the baby so convenient + I love the mittens that’s attached to them and the cute designs.
What is a real life moment you’ve had recently?
I just had a baby and I took her to a doctor’s appointment by myself. She started screaming her head off. It was really hard handling her screaming, her car seat, things falling out of the diaper bag. I think that’s when I realized I’m human and it’s okay to ask for help when I need it. As moms we always try to play super woman. But asking for help is always okay.
